KUMET – 2010
Applications are invited for the MBBS/BDS program of Kathmandu University.
Eligibility Criteria
1. Completed 17 years of age by 31 July 2010.
2. Completed 10+2 years of education or Intermediate of Science or equivalent examination (e.g. GCSE A level courses comprising Biology, Chemistry and Physics and an AS/O level course in English with at least C standing in each subject) with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English, as main subjects and having secured not less than 50% marks in the subjects mentioned above put together and an overall aggregate of 50%.
OR
Completed Bachelor of Science Degree, recognized by the University, with one of the following subjects viz. Physics, Chemistry, Biology and at least one other prescribed science subject of study up to the ancillary level and having scored not less than an overall aggregate of 50% marks, provided that such candidate shall have passed the earlier qualifying examination (10+2 or an equivalent examination) with the subjects of Biology, Physics and Chemistry.
Or,
Completed requisite course equivalent to I. Sc. (Biological Group) with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English, as main subjects after Certificate Level in Health Sciences from Dhulikhel Medical Institute, Kathmandu University and having secured not less than 50% marks in the subjects mentioned above put together and an overall aggregate of 50%,.
Application Form Submission Process and Deadline
The applicant must download the application form [Click here to download] and completed application form along with the photocopies of the mark sheet of S.L.C. and transcript of 10+2 or equivalent examinations, character certificate, citizenship certificate and bank voucher worth NRs.3,000/- (non-refundable) of Nepal Investment Bank, deposited in the name of KUSMS Saving Account Number: 005 8261140 (cash is not acceptable) submit to the Dean's office, School of Medical Sciences, Dhulikhel Hospital, Dhulikhel during office days from 10:00 AM to 2:30 PM on or before August 29, 2010. Deposit can be made through any branches of Nepal Investment Bank.
Entrance Test: Date, Time and Venue
Entrance Test: September 4, 2010 Saturday
Time: 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M.
Venue: as indicated in the Admit Card
Admit Card issue date: September 2nd and 3rd, 2010 (During 10:00 AM to 2:30)
The Curriculum
Entrance Examination for MBBS/BDS will be conducted as per the curriculum for MBBS/BDS Entrance Examination published by the Ministry of Education. Copy of the curriculum along with the model questions is printed, published and marketed by Janak Education Materials Centre Ltd., Sanothimi, Bhaktapur.
Modality of Admission
Applicant who have successfully passed KUMET and meet the above mentioned eligibility criteria can apply in any one of the medical/dental institutions affiliated under Kathmandu University.
Admission will be made on the basis of performance in the Entrance Test followed by interview. Interview will be done by the concerned institution.
The KUMET 2010 will be valid for academic session 2010 August and 2011 February.
Note: Those candidates whose form is rejected will not be issued the admit card for examination. NRs. Rs. 2500 entrance examination fee will be refunded to them.

देहायको योग्यता पुरा गरेका देहायका समूहका इच्छुक उम्मेदवारहरुबाट मिति २०६७ साउन २ गते अपरान्ह १:०० बजे भित्र यस शाखामा निवेदनका लागि यो सूचना प्रकाशित गरिएको छ ।
न्युनतम योग्यताः
(क) 10+2 वा सो सरह उत्तीर्ण परीक्षामा न्युनतम ८० प्रतिशत अङ्क प्राप्त गरेको हुनुपर्ने ।
(ख) उमेर २५ वर्ष ननाघेको हुनुपर्ने ।

SECOND ANNOUNCEMENT
Following are the lists of selected candidates for admission and wait-listed candidates in order of
merit of MBBS, BDS and B.Sc. Nursing Entrance Examinations held on 31st July and 2nd August
2010 respectively. The candidates are required to report with their original documents/certificates to
the Office of the Dean, Academic Division, BPKIHS, Dharan from 17th August (Tuesday) 2010
onwards and complete the admission process by 5:00 p.m., on 22nd August (Sunday) 2010. The
admission process will require (1) verification of original certificates (2) medical examination (3)
payment of fees and (4) completion of identification procedure. If any candidate fails to take
admission by the above mentioned date, and/or if a selected candidate is found unfit on medical
grounds or for not having valid original certificate(s), or for not meeting identification requirement,
his/her selection will be treated as cancelled.
For the subsequent vacancy, 3rd announcement will be made on 24th August (Tuesday) 2010, which
will be put up on the notice board of Academic Division, BPKIHS; Contact Office, Kathmandu and
webpage www.bpkihs.edu.

19 seats in SAARC Category (9 seats of SAARC category plus 10 seats of NONSAARC
category) are vacant due to non-availability of SAARC candidates. These
seats, as mentioned in the Prospectus of MBBS and BDS Entrance Examination 2010
(Page 8), are being offered to PSTFS Category wait-listed candidates in order of merit.
However, for those transferred seats SAARC fee structure shall be applicable.
Interested candidates on waiting list of PSTFS category should take admission in these
SAARC Category seats by 5:00 pm 22nd August (Sunday) 2010.
