Student need to pass KUMET Entrance -2011 For KU Affiliated Colleges and IOM Entrance exam For TU Affiliated Colleges.
KU affiliated Colleges
KUMET exam is held in July every year and sometimes second exam is held in January. Exam format is same as that of MOE but there is no negative marking. Pass mark is 40% and questions are usually easier. Merit list position is considered during admission and in addition most of the colleges take interview also.Same merit list is also valid for entering BDS. There are two sessions in KU, August and February.Most of the colleges take intake in August except KUSMS where intake is in February.
Total tuition fee for 5 years is in the range of 27 to 39 lacs excluding accommodation, food ,exam fee etc. Mode of payment is variable,most of the colleges prefer single payment in the beginning and in doing so they may give some discount.

TU affiliated Colleges
The same exam for scholarship is also valid for donation seats in other TU affiliated colleges. Pass mark is 50% and the past record shows that half of the total applicant obtain pass mark.It is more difficult than KUMET entrance exam. From last year separate exam is held for BDS. Session starts from Mangsir. Fee structure is slightly lower than KU affiliated colleges and ranges from 21 to 27 lacs.
In IOM 17 seats are allotted for foreign students under self finance but in case seats are not fulfilled by foreign students vacant seats are fulfilled by Nepalese students and the selection strictly follows the merit list of scholarship entrance. Total fee was Rs 29.5 lacs year.

BPKIHS
Entrance exam is same for scholarship( heavily subsidized) and donation (partially subsidized) seats. You may apply for the both. It is tough to enter even in partially subsidized seats and requires a vigorous preparation. Total tuition fee is 20 lacs ,devided into 4 installments.
PAHS, Patan
It is starting from this year, Entrance exam will be held in Baisakh and it is same as the scholarship seats exam. There are 3 category of donation seats- Rs 15 lacs, Rs 20 lacs and 30 lacs. In addition to the written test on PQI, Interview will be held for successful candidates.
Outside Nepal
Around 450 students go to Bangladesh, 150 to China, 50 to Philippines and a few to Russian countries. The question of recognition is obsolete these days as you need to take permission from Nepal Medical Council(Ph-4371566) before going into any colleges outside Nepal and council will verify the status of recognition. There are different advantages and disadvantage in these countries but none of these are good alternate to colleges in Nepal.
Total cost including tuition, food and accommodation (excluding book, air-fare and pocket money) in China will be Rs 14- 19 lacs , in Bangladesh 18-26 lacs and Philippines 28-36 lacs. only advantage is that one can pay in annual installment.
Any student who has 50% marks in plus 2 may directly join any of the Chinese University. For Bangladesh one needs to have GPA 8 that roughly corresponds with 65 % in plus two and there should not be Any student who has 50% marks in plus 2 may directly join any of the Chinese University.
